Gmail Redeploys Spam Filter to Help Prioritize Email
This is really quite brilliant. Gmail will learn which mail is higher priority for you and present that first. It gets smarter as it goes and you can help it by pointing out which mail is more important.
It's using its already very smart spam filter in a new way. I don't know if you've really noticed, but you don't get a lot of spam as a Gmail user. I've actually come to forget about spam almost entirely since moving to Gmail. That's because of their amazingly effective spam filter that ever Gmail user gets to use (and contribute to--if one gets through their net, just Report Spam and it's marked as such).
In any case, the geniuses at Gmail/Google have taken the "engine" that's doing such a great job selecting out the spam and are going to use it to help you prioritize your email.
I've already tried it and it's very easy to use and I can see where it will be an asset to help me become even more productive.
